Tottenham defender Ledley King has called time on playing professional and competitive football, as he will now take on an ambassadorial role at the club.
King, 31, has battled niggling knee injuries for a number of years at Spurs, which made him unable to train on a daily basis.
“I have been here since I was a boy, it is a second home for me,” King told Tottenham’s official website.
“I’m pleased that I can continue to work within the club.”
King made limited appearances for the England national team, with claims that he could not play more than a game in a week.
