2011 Soccer - Emirates Cup Press Conference - July 29, 2011

Arsenal football club are shaking off the toga,as the top four English Premier league club that hardly spends big on players, with the London club in the process of landing two players in a matter of days.

Spanish midfielder Santi Cazorla has been given permission by troubled Malaga,to travel to London for a medicals with the Gunners. It is understood that the deal for Cazorla could have gone through last night, but a snag in the transfer fee stalled the deal.

Malaga confirmed on their official website this morning that the player was absent from training today ‘with permission from the club’.
After a while,a picture of Cazorla in an airport appeared on Twitter, with reports suggesting that he was Emirates bound for a medicals.

Malaga is expected to confirm the player’s departure from the club in a press conference this afternoon, with Arsenal said to pay around £17million for the 27-year-old.
Also the Arsene Wenger’s team, is heavily linked with a loan move for Real Madrid’s Nuri Sahin, who is getting limited playing opportunities at the Spanish capital.

The 23-year old Turkish international, will join on a season-long basis if the player and clubs reach an agreement.

Sahin joined Madrid from Borrussia Dortmund on a six-year contract in May 2011 but injuries limited his playing opportunities to establish himself in Jose Mourinho’s team at the Bernabeu.

So with the latest developments in the transfer market, would Arsenal football club win the elusive titles for their beleaguered fans, who have suffered emotionally for the past seven years, the club has not any silverware?

Surely if they manage to keep Robin Van Persie, for the coming season, they should be genuine contenders for the English premiership.
