Odumosu sets new National record at the Olympics

Ajoke Odumosu ignited Nigeria’s medal chances at the London 2012 Olympics by winning her 400 meters Hurdles,semi-finals heat to give the country hopes of a medal in the finals today.

Odumosu set a new national record of 50.54 seconds,making her the only Nigerian to do so at the Games. The Hurdler will today compete in the finals,which comes later on in the day.

Before the Olympics,Odumosu told Allsports that her aim was just to qualify for the finals and take it from there : My own goal personally is to get to the finals,and once I get into the finals I know anything can happen,” she said.

She went further to state, that she was immediately placing emphasis on winning a medal: “well I don’t want to look into that area and putting much pressure on myself,putting pressure on yourself only makes you panic and do what you are not supposed to do,what I am trying to do is just to stay focused and do what I have being coached to do and then expect the best from me,” Odumosu said,well Allsports thinks that,her mind will definitely be on winning a medal tonight.
