Super Eagles of Nigeria goalkeeper,Vincent Enyeama is set to make a sensational return to Israel,to join Maccabi Tel Aviv on loan, after finding it difficult to break into the starting 11 of French outfit Lille.
Enyeama was said to have undergone a medical at Maccabi last night, and could finalise the deal this week.
Through out last season, the 29-year old, failed to make a league appearance for Lille in the Ligue 1,as Mickaël Landreau was the preferred goalkeeper ahead of the Nigerian by coach Rudi Garcia.
Enyeama who was sighted in Israel on Sunday, refused to confirm his move to Maccabi, when quizzed by reporters : ‘’I came here (Israel) on holiday. I do not know why you ask me about Maccabi. It is not closed. Anything can happen; I do not know what will happen now,’’ Enyeama was quoted as saying by one.co.il.
The Nigerian international could be making his second appearance in the Israeli league, after establishing himself at Hapoel Tel Aviv, where he made 113 appearances in the championship, scoring eight goals.
Three of the Super Eagles goalkeepers, would now be plying their trade in Israel : Dele Ayenugba,Austin Ejide and Vincent Enyeama.
